"We actually started with a 3 hp, but aquifer level decreased too rapidly so had to order a smaller pump. It wasn't much later that I heard from Dave Tanksley, (and maybe Tim Rudolf), that they should have blown out the well casing far below to clean out the small holes in the pvc pipe (casing). Then maybe the larger pump would have worked. This would have supported a much larger flow rate from Pump #1."
